“ Wow! the views are the best in the city by FAR. I'm so glad we went for happy hour at the High Bar - it's a great happy hour. From 5-6:30 there are specials and the menu is perfect. Cocktails were great, and there were so many interesting ones to choose from. I had the pink pearl martini which was lightly sweet and super easy to drink. I also had the lemony snickett, which is made with mezcal and citrus with a Tajin rim - delightful. For food, we had several things, and everything was so outstanding. Chef is really doing his thing! We had the Japanese milk bread, which is this floofy salted round bread loaf with whipped butter - divine. We also had the pickle board which was so pretty and came with a variety of yummy things - the pickled strawberries were the best thing I ate all night, no joke. I've never tasted anything like them. They had so much fresh strawberry flavor along with a light pickle and spice. I really want to try and recreate those, but the strawberries they had were just so fresh and tasty - they must have an amazing produce vendor. We also had the fresh oysters, which came from Nova Scotia and were so delicious - smallish with a tender bite, salty and mild. Also, we had to try the foie gras creme brulee - a savory, creamy, salty and sweet spread with toast points. Wow! I've never had anything like it, and now I want it again! Not pictured is their smash burger, which I think should get more attention in the Detroit burger world. It was just the perfect messy but not too messy, not too big burger with the perfect seasoning and juiciness. The fries that come with are super hot and crispy. I'm already planning when I can return! If the snackies and burger are this good, I can only imagine how good the full dinner experience would be. Service was impeccable. Highly recommend for out of towners or business dinners - they also have the most beautiful private room. ”

“ We had our wedding at the Highlands Event Space on the 72nd Floor. Our wedding at Highlands was truly magical. The space itself is absolutely stunning, whether you’re looking out the 360 windows or the interior (the robin’s egg blue walls, tall white pillars, or the modern chandeliers) and it created the perfect backdrop for our celebration and felt so special from start to finish. We loved the elevated feeling of the included decor- like the chairs, tablecloths, and dish ware which we felt did not need any upgrades or changes. The venue team went above and beyond to make everything run smoothly, even through some of the staff transitions that happened while we were working with them. We started with one coordinator, but ultimately worked with Craig, who was not only incredibly sweet but also just a really cool person and a calming presence leading up to our big day. He clearly paid close attention to the details, like making sure my partner and I got an extra plate of the beet salad that we loved during our tasting, even though we’d picked the Caesar for dinner. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and it meant so much to us. The food was TO DIE FOR- seriously we knew that we wanted the food at our wedding to be top notch, and it does not get much better than Highlands! Our guests were raving about the Chicken and Beef dishes, hors d’oeuvres, and dessert options which also stole our hearts (and stomachs). The bar and serving staff were also amazing! Professional, friendly, and so kind to our guests. One server even brought a special plate of grapes to my young nephew after he didn’t want his entree, and handed it to him while he was halfway hiding under the table! That kind of attentiveness really stood out to us, and made our whole day feel so much more personal and cared for. We’re so grateful to the whole team for helping make our wedding feel joyful, seamless, and uniquely “us.” ”

For a wedding venue in the round, they can keep guest moving to different spaces, so the views are always changing. Great food, nice staff and if you're lucky enough to time your first dances with the sunset, you'll be blown away! Unique wedding venue, classy and jaw dropping. Destined to become a classic Detroit wedding venue. ”

The only reason I’m not giving it five stars in every single category is that I did mention I have a gluten allergy, and there was one small gluten item that was missed in the dessert that I ordered. Otherwise, the staff was very proactive and swapped out gluten-free options without my direction throughout the meal. And once again, all the food was wonderful. ”
